Some attractions that will knock your socks off!
Tasmania has some really great attractions which, while being safe, have a somewhat large thrill factor. We have listed some below to get you started...
Possibly the most thrilling would be the Top Gun Tasmania flights. Top Gun Tasmania flys from Hobart International Airport on a full time basis and occasionally flys from Launceston, Devonport, and Wynyard. Click here for more details...
If you are after something a little tamer, and fun for the family, why not go abseiling, rockclimbing or kayaking? Freycinet Adventures specialises in all of these things and more. Freycinet Adventures are based in Coles Bay on the east coast of Tasmania, where tours leave from. Ask about adding a Freycinet Adventure to your package when you speak to one of our consultants.
There are many short walks around the state for those who just want to get into the bush for a few hours, however there are also a number of companies that can take you on 2 day or long walks. These walks generally include accommodation or camping, some food, transport from Hobart or Launceston, one or more guides and a chance to meet other keen walkers while visiting some of the most beautiful, untouched areas of Tasmania. Some examples of these walks are the Bay of Fires Walk (North-east coast), Cradle Huts Walk (Cradle Mountain) and Maria Island Walk (East coast). Ask about adding a fully guided walk to your package when you speak to one of our consultants.
White water rafting is possible when there is enough water around to support it, and among other things, Tasmanian Expeditions can offer 9 or 11 day trips on the Franklin River ex Hobart. Trips depart between November and March. Ask about adding a rafting trip to your package when you speak to one of our consultants.
How about a scenic flight? Seeing Tassie from above can be a truly different experience to what you see on land, and companies such as Par Avion can fly you into the south-west wilderness where very few people get to visit (including local Tasmanians!). If you are a keen bushwalker, they also offer one way and return flights so that you can start your hike right in the middle of nowhere. Ask about adding a rafting trip to your package when you speak to one of our consultants.
Something for the animal lovers - Something Wild incorporates day and night eco-tours by appointment which take in the picturesque environment and enable you to see native wildlife and birdlife roaming free. It is the only Wildlife Sanctuary in Tasmania to offer night viewing of WILD and FREE native animals. Ask about adding a tour at Something Wild to your package when you speak to one of our consultants.
