Thrifty operates 11 offices around
Tasmania including all major airports and the Spirit of
Tasmania terminal in Devonport. With one of Tasmania’s largest
and most modern fleets, Thrifty’s average age per
vehicle is just 6 months. All classes of vehicles have
air conditioning, the latest in comfort and safety features,
and most have CD players.
Daily rates include unlimited kms
and comprehensive insurance with a damage liability
of $2,750 (except sports cars). Liability may be reduced to $385 by paying
$20 per day optional additional coverage to Thrifty
when you collect your vehicle. For sports cars, rates
now include unlimited kilometres. Liability for sports cars is $5,500
reducible to $990 by paying additional coverage of $24.00
per day.
Vehicle Registration Recovery Fee (VRRF) is an additional
charge ($4.95 per day of car rental) which is to be
paid to Thrifty at the time of picking up the vehicle.
Important Information
- Additional $1,650 liability applies on unsealed
roads
- Drivers must be 21-75 years of age
- Thrifty Car Rental terms and conditions apply
- Drivers must hold a current, non provisional, license
- A credit card or $300 cash is required as a bond
- For sports cars, drivers must be at least 25 years
of age
- Daily rates are based on 24 hour periods
- Full tank of fuel provided and to be returned same
way
- Surcharge applies for collecting at Launceston or
Hobart Airport, 9% and 10.5% of full rental cost, respectively
- Free hotel delivery and 24 roadside assistance available
