Once you have arrived in our island state there are
a number of ways of getting around. At

for stays of 2 weeks or less, hire a car or campervan
as these are cost effective ways of experiencing Tasmania.
If you are coming for more than 2 weeks it may be more
convenient to bring your own car on the Spirit of Tasmania.

Please
note that Tasmania does have some sections of road
that are subject to ice so please take care. Our
roads are generally cleared of snow in winter and
in most parts of good condition. Our recommendation
is to take your time and enjoy the ride! |

Tasmania
is lucky to have abundant native animals, Wallabies,
Kangaroos, Quolls, Devils, Wombats and Echidnas.
As these animals are nocturnal, please take extra
care from dusk until dawn as you will see these animals
near our roads. You will see some animals that have
been killed the previous day, a reminder of the wildness
of the areas that you are travelling through. |
