Escape to Bruny Island

Last weekend I enjoyed a few days away on Bruny Island, staying with Bruny Island Escapes in one of their new lodge rooms. These are a lovely, hotel style room with a small kitchenette and a deck outside to enjoy the views over the D'Entrecasteaux Channel and Satellite Island. Hotel Bruny is also onsite which is a great spot for lunch or dinner.

Bruny Island Cruises were generous enough to host us on their three hour wilderness cruise which we loved. The coast line and sea caves we saw were spectacular, the guides were a real highlight and we loved seeing the seals at the Friars. The Southern Ocean is a pretty special place!

Other highlights for the weekend included lunch at the Bruny Island Cruises Seafood Restaurant, a stop at the Bruny Island Chocolate Company and a walk up to the Truganini Lookout at The Neck.
