We collected the car from Macq01, a luxury storytelling Hotel located on Hobart’s waterfront and enjoyed a 2 ½ hour drive to Pumphouse Point, Lake St Clair, an indulgent retreat in the heart of World Heritage Wilderness.
On the drive from Hobart to Lake St Clair we travelled along the Lyell Highway, passing through the historic townships of New Norfolk, Hamilton and Tarraleah. We enjoyed lunch at the Derwent Bridge Wilderness Hotel before arriving at Pumphouse Point.
We then boarded a Par Avion helicopter and relaxed while taking in the sights on the 50-minute flight back to Hobart. Flying over the Derwent Valley was a great way to see Tasmania from a different viewpoint.
