Thanks Mum!

While the world is currently battening down the hatches to fight COVID-19 we salute all our front-line workers who are daily facing this threat to life. To all our health care workers, police and emergency services we thank you! We send the utmost thanks and praise to all the essential workers who are keeping food in our pantries, our children educated and our normal home comforts available.

In addition, with Mother’s Day just around the corner, we want to take an opportunity to thank the all the mothers out there! We know that in normal circumstances mothers are amazing, however during a world health crisis we want to acknowledge that mothers are simply exceptional!

We want to recognise the mothers who are currently trying to work from home while at the same time are attempting to home school their children; the mothers who are essential workers who are feeling guilty that they also have children at home that need additional care and attention while schools and childcare options are limited. There are the pregnant mothers who are preparing to birth a child amid a pandemic that we would like to thank. And there are grandmothers who are having to educate themselves with FaceTime just so they can see the little smiles on their grand children’s faces, who cannot wait for an actual cuddle!

We realise that there are Dads and Grandfathers too that are currently going through the same anguish however the impending celebration of Mothers’ Day gives us a timely chance to thank these amazing women.
