The Taste of Tasmania
Running from 28th December - 3rd January, The Taste of Tasmania is Tasmania’s longest running summer event. Celebrating the events 30th birthday the 2019/20 Taste of Tasmania is expected to be the best yet! Indulge in delicious local produce from all corners of the state, enjoy entertaining performances and live music on Hobart’s stunning waterfront.
Fun for all ages, The Taste of Tasmania caters for all with a huge program of events and performances, craft activities, face painting, workshops and family friendly food stalls.
With the exception of New Year’s Eve, entry to The Taste of Tasmania is free. If you are interested in joining the New Year’s Eve festivities, you will need to secure your tickets soon as they are selling fast. 2019 Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race
Late December and early January brings a hive of activity to the Hobart waterfront every year. In addition to The Taste of Tasmania, the Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, celebrates its 75th anniversary and draws thousands of people to the docks to see some of the world’s greatest yachts.
Beginning in Sydney Harbour on Boxing Day this 628 nautical mile yacht race is renowned as one of the greatest blue water classics in the world. The winds of the Roaring Forties and the might of the great Southern Ocean make this one of the most gruelling ocean races in the world.

Mona Foma Festival of Music & Art
Taking over Launceston from 11 – 20 January 2020 Mona Foma is yet another amazing event for Tasmania brought to us by David Walsh and festival curator Brian Ritchie.
Mona Foma is an annual music and arts festival that encourages revellers to fully express their individuality. Launceston landmarks such as the Queen Victoria Museum and Gallery, Cataract Gorge and the banks of the Tamar River are set to be transformed into festival hot spots.
Mona Foma 2020 will be a spectacular event with over 400 artists and 25 venues in and around Launceston. Majority of the events are held within walking distance to city accommodation making it a breeze to get around the festival. In addition to the incredible entertainment, festival goers will be spoilt for choice when it comes to being fed and watered! Amazing local producers will in attendance showcasing fresh local foods and beverages from around the state.

Celebrating the very best of Tasmanian food, wine, beer, arts and entertainment, Festivale is one of Tasmania’s best summer events. Held in Launceston’s beautiful City Park, Festivale runs for three days from 31 January to 02 February 2020. Making the most of Launceston’s stunning summer days this outdoor event even offers cooking demonstrations and food and beverage masterclasses.
